Beth and John share a great love of all things gardening. Throw is some great music, and an adult libation or two…and it becomes the “Garden Party With John & Beth”. Their podcasts are fun and informative in so many ways. Most podcasts are recorded on location with a variety of interesting guests.
Of course celebrating local Pittsburgh music and musicians comes naturally to this pair, as John sings in The Nied’s Hotel Band and Beth is a voice teacher to many gifted students in the area. We hope you’ll enjoy sharing our Garden Party as much as we enjoy sharing our gifts with you!
Beth’s love of gardening began with the purchase of her very first home in 1995. She began experimenting with different types of shrubs, flowers and trees. Her approach was very simple-“ put it in the ground and see if it grows”. Of course adding lots of plant-love-talk, watering, and tweaking…voila, she found total joy in the dirt! Beth loves helping friends and neighbors with their garden. She is often seen in her city garden splitting perennials and chatting with a neighbor, or discussing garden designs with friends. She loves sharing gardening tips and loves learning new tricks even more!
She is so excited to bring her love of gardening to this fabulous Garden Party.
To say that John’s love of all things gardening is in his blood is quite the understatement. John’s father,(John Vento Sr.) was a renown landscape/gardening contractor from the early 1960’s until his death in 1995. At the tender age of (8) John joined his father and went to work getting his hands dirty. Under the tutelage of his father John learned many practical gardening tricks that have never let him down. In 2005 John found an old abandoned farm house (circa 1820) outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. It was the perfect canvas to create a garden setting filled with love and beauty. Like Beth, John welcomes the chance to share his experience and help out friends every way possible with their property and gardens. Besides his own home gardens John is most proud of his contributions in the creation of The Flight 93 Remember Me Rose Garden in Shanksville, Pa.
